JCDecaux UK signs up for more Renault Trafic and Master Vans

JCDecaux UK, the UK’s leading outdoor advertising company is calling on the Renault Trafic and Master to help spread clients’ messages across the UK.

JCDecaux has ordered a significant volume of Renault Trafic and Master Panel Vans for use in the installation and maintenance of its nationwide bus-stop advertising systems, billboards and street furniture.

The order follows JCDecaux taking delivery of a batch of Renault Trafics earlier this year, LCVs from Europe’s number one LCV manufacturer now accounting for an ever-increasing proportion of the firm’s maintenance fleet. The Trafics and Masters replace existing Renault vehicles and also those from other manufacturers.

Together with the reliability and capability of its existing Renault vehicles, JCDecaux chose its latest Trafics and Masters based on their environmental compatibility, high levels of equipment, payload and comfort.

JCDecaux ordered all its vehicles with Twin Turbo ENERGY turbodiesel engines, which combine strong performance with optimum efficiency through the use of advanced turbocharging technology, Stop&Start engine management and the new regenerative braking system (Energy Smart Management). The Trafics have the 1.6-litre ENERGY dCi 125 engine, while all the Masters feature the 2.3-litre ENERGY dCi 145 engine. Both are matched to six-speed manual transmissions and provide drive to the front wheels.

In addition to meeting the very latest legislation, the Euro 6 specification of its Renault LCVs conforms to JCDecaux’s environmental policy, where the firm is committed to the reduction of CO2 emissions in its day-to-day operations.

Renault’s Business trim level ensures JCDecaux’s technicians benefit from a host of safety, comfort and convenience-enhancing features. Standard equipment includes a DAB radio with Bluetooth, electric front windows, remote central locking, electric and heated door mirrors, trip computer, all-round disc brakes, ESC (Electronic Stability Control) with HSA (Hill Start Assist) and Grip Xtend; an advanced electronic traction control system which acts on the vehicle’s driven wheels to optimise traction on loose surfaces.

All of the Masters and Trafics have been supplied by Renault Croydon. As a Renault Pro+ specialist fleet dealer, Renault Croydon is able to offer services and vehicles that are tailored to the complex needs of business customers. The conversions have been completed by TEVO and, depending on the vans’ designated usage, include the installation of water tanks, onboard power, internal glass racks and roof racks.

JCDecaux also benefits from the reassurance of Renault’s four-year/100,000 mile warranty and four years’ Renault Assistance package, which is standard with every Renault LCV.

Gerald Hares, Fleet Manager, JCDecaux UK, said: “The Master and Trafic fit very well with our requirements, providing good whole life costs and payload for the size of the vehicle, as well as features that are useful to our operatives when they are out on the road.

“Driver feedback has also been positive, our technicians particularly like the comfortable seating and driving experience of our latest Renault vehicles.”

Nick Tame, Sales Director, Groupe Renault UK, said: “JCDecaux is a global leader in its field and insists on the very best, so its decision to grow its number of Renault vehicles is a great testimony to the merits of the Trafic and Master. We are delighted that they have chosen our award-winning LCVs to use in their essential day-to-day operations and that the UK’s biggest outdoor advertising business believes our vans are suitable rolling advertisements for its own services.”

The Renault Master range is available from £23,170 ex. VAT. Customers can choose from six different engines, front-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive; and many bodystyles, including Panel Van, Crew Van and Passenger.

Available with a choice of five efficient turbo diesel engines, the award-winning Renault Trafic is available in Panel Van, Crew Van and Passenger bodystyles. It is priced from £20,160 ex. VAT.

The Trafic and larger Master are core models in the LCV product offering from the manufacturer’s specialised Renault Pro+ brand, which comprises of a vehicle range, services and a network dedicated to business customers. The performance of the Renault Pro+ operation contributed to Renault winning the Most Improved Manufacturer at the 2016 Fleet World Awards.

Renault van sales in the UK grew by over 20 per cent to 13,435 vehicles in the first half of 2016, significantly outpacing the van market that grew by 2.5 per cent, according to official figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders. LCV market share for the first half of 2016 stood at 7 per cent – up 1 percentage point on the same period in 2015.

Renault’s growth in the van market builds upon a record year for LCV sales in the UK last year, with sales up 40 per cent on 2014 to 25,458 units, and also the manufacturer being the best-selling LCV brand in Europe for the 18th consecutive year.
