Manheim Online breaks sold volume record

Manheim Online, a division of Cox Automotive, broke its previous volume record by 11% in January, demonstrating continued growth and sustained interest from dealers in online auctions.

5,700 units were sold through the online auction platform in the first month of the year, which equates to an average of two cars a minute across each of the 46 sales held in the month.

Set up in 2013, the platform has grown rapidly in four years, selling more than 46,000 units in 2017, representing a fivefold increase on its first year in operation (8,000 units).

Manheim Online connects manufacturers, leasing and fleet company vendors to buyers across the UK, offering a number of digital buying routes, to a large choice of quality vehicles. These include ‘Online Auctions’, ‘Bid Now’ timed bidding events’ and ‘Buy Now’ options that open a 24/7 route to stock.

Manheim Online’s John Biggs said: “Fresh stock is added to our online ‘Buy Now’ catalogues twice a day, and with up to 300 new vehicles listed daily, dealers have the stock they want just a click or two away.”

“We are focused on making wholesale stock management smarter and simpler for manufacturers, leasing companies and dealers by offering them a fantastic range of vehicles and easy ways to bid and buy.

Biggs concluded: “Exceeding our previous sales target is a fantastic achievement and we will continue to focus on securing the best quality stock and broadening our buyer base to improve the customer experience.”
