The UK automotive sector is set to create a new record for data movements in 2018, says Cap HPI.
In recent years the number of car models and derivatives has jumped to 68,700 unique ‘IDs’, which is set to create more than 10 million monthly movements in used values.
Cap HPI analysis shows monthly movements of used values topped 9.4 million in 2017.
The data points in the company’s Black Book product include six mileage points on each of the plates available for each value ID and derivative.
Adrian Rushmore, editorial director at Cap HPI, said: “The industry is becoming more complex and the demands on the data more critical.”
